Ava Daly is a graphic designer based in New York. She graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from SUNY New Paltz in 2024. She is a designer who has a passion for branding and publishing design. Her year-long senior thesis project To Judge a Book By Its Cover: An Exhibition, is the project Ava is most proud of. The exhibition, that she designed and curated, celebrates the artistry of book cover design and recognizes the designers who create the covers we are often told to overlook.
Her skills include branding, logo design, typography, digital photography, print & digital design, and UX/UI design. She is skilled with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Rhinoceros 3D. She also believes stepping away from the computer and working with physical materials is another great aspect of creation and design. Because of this, Ava has grown her skills in hand bookbinding & book design as well as painting & illustrations.
She currently works as the Curatorial Assistant at Gallery North, a not-for-profit art gallery located on Long Island, developing and organizing fine art exhibitions.

Project Overview:
This grant helped fund the creation of my exhibition by covering the cost of printing high-quality posters. It also provided me the opportunity to acquire more books on this topic, which helped me further my research. The exhibition was displayed in Sojourner Truth Library in Spring 2024.
